You are a blessing

you are a delight

your smile can and does lift someones day.

New people have moved in next door to us. We were first really aware of them when we are weeding our vegetable patch, the shouting began. Anger and hurtful words filled the air.

Two days later again, this time louder and more sinister. Then all quiet. Coming in from the garden carrying fresh lettuce for lunch I was taken aback and amazed to see a policeman, yes, wearing a gun on his hip, standing at the front door. It seems the lady during the  heat of their argument had rung her son and the son had telephoned the police. The policeman was at our door to ask what had we heard? It seemed the neighbours had driven off leaving the police to arrive at an empty house.

The people next door, in another street, in another city, and all around the world. Have never been told they are worthy. That they have value and contribute much to the world.Often their lives are reduced to fight or flight, anxious and overwhelmed they do not know any other way. At the celebration of Christmas is the time when we often feel it the most . The disconnect between the carols we hear, the Christmas trees and the shops filled with colour and light. For many this is a time of deep pain.

 What if you could find yourself at peace in your body, mind and spirit?

After a nasty fall from my bicycle, coming home from high school, I began suffering from migraines. After a term of Chiropractic adjustments, which helped but did not entirely stop the migraine headaches, my parents in desperation sent me to yoga classes, The only available evening class in our area was filled with pregnant women. I felt out of place as a shy teenager, but persevered. adjustment,breathing, meditation and yoga proved the only therapy that bought relief from the headaches. Feeling well I got on with life, married moved from my home town and forgot the daily yoga practices and there benefits. Coming back to Yoga and meditation helped me manage during the time of my father's Cancer. and death. Later when my Husband became ill the natural decision was to qualify as a Yoga, meditation teacher to further assist others through the difficult times of illness and recovery or death. I have now been benefiting from the science and art of Yoga, Meditation for well over twenty five years.
