The last Yoga class for 2015 found us in the bathroom (all ladies,) with a discussion on preparing skin for summer. Or if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere winter skin. I spoke to them briefly on the benefits of coconut oil, demonstrated the application of Sesame or Coconut oil. Ladies here are the notes to follow.
Coconut oil is a cooling oil, Sesame oil heats and is used in Winter
So the students found a partner, one to relax the other to give a coconut oil fascial. I found small bowls to hold the coconut oil. Talking the students through the process as they gave each other a facial.( You can do the same as a Christmas gift.) This was truly a lovely /loving way to end the Yoga year by the exchange of energy and joy. If you are unsure of the technique follow the lines of the face, around the jaw line. Then go down to the shoulder and gently pull the skin, slide your hands along the back of her/his neck, sliding up the back of their head,move the oil into the hair

Please remember only use pure coconut oil. No hydrogenated coconut oil and no “lite:” oil. Some claim coconut oil prevents premature ageing.
